Primary Arcana - All Races are capable of casting magic, but are only able to naturally use one magical discipline.  TwinCasting is a very rare but still naturally occuring trait allowing unrestricted usage of two different magical disciplines but does not allow usage of two Primary Arcana from the same branch  -  can't naturally use two Elements for example, would have to be one Element and one Necromantic or Mystic. Espers also cannot be born as a TwinCaster as they have a genetic limit of one type of magic.


Secondary Arcana – Secondary Arcana are additional disciplines granted through outside sources, mainly enchanted equipment such as swords, armor or various accessories. Secondary Arcana cannot be mastered to the same degree as a TwinCaster as they are not granted genetically. Crysts are a permanent alternative to this, as when consumed they grant permanent unrestricted access to the new Arcana – one thing to note is that while they do occur in the world naturally, they are extremely difficult to find.

Arcane Discipline - Elemental
Patron Archon – Heridas


Fire – Opposed by Ice. The Manipulation of Fire.

Ice – Opposed by Fire. The Manipulation of Ice. Cannot manipulate Water despite being related elements.

Lightning – Opposed by Water. The Manipulation of Lightning. Commonly used to augment the caster's speed.

Wind – Opposed by Earth. The Manipulation of Wind and Air.

Earth – Opposed by Wind. The Manipulation of Earth. Most commonly used as makeshift armor.

Water – Opposed by Lightning. The Manipulation of Water. Cannot manipulate Ice despite being related elements.

Arcane Discipline – Necromantic

Summoning – Necromantic summoning is the ability to call forth the spirits of the undead. It is considered a separate type of magic from Abyssal or Shadow due to them being able to summon different kinds of creatures.

Shadow – Shadow Manipulation is the manipulation of the shadows themselves, bending them to the user's will and using them offensively or defensively. More advanced mages are capable of using the shadows to create minions to use as servants or to fight alongside them in combat.

Abyssal – Abyssal Arcana channels the forces of Hellfire, this is the typical “darkness” element from most RPGs. Abyssal Arcana is capable of summoning powerful Daemons in the hands of a master. Alternatively known as Nether, the inverse of Aether.

Space – Control over Matter. Opposed by Time. TwinCasters with Space and Temporal manipulation are capable of perfect Time Travel, as they can move to any location they desire.

Temporal -Control over the flow of Time. Opposed by Space.

Light  - Control over Light. Opposed by Shadow.

Holy – Control over spiritual forces. Able to summon mighty beings from the Aetherian realm to aid in combat.

Runescript - The art of inscribing runes onto objects, empowering them with various arcane properties. Considered a Mystic Arcana despite anyone being able to learn it.

Aether – Control over Raw Magic Power. Aether can be used both offensively and defensively and has the potential to do almost anything in the hands of a master. Aether is incredibly rare to have natural control over and has a high price to use it. The Yra are created from this force and are naturally able to manipulate it with ease. All three Archons control this magic despite it being a Mystic discipline.

Magnetism – Control over the Magnetic Forces. Opposed by Gravity.

Gravity – Control over the force of Gravity. Opposed by Magnetism.

Arcane Discipline - Espers
Espers are able to use any Arcana of their choosing, even those not categorised as Elemental, Necromantic or Mystic but are limited to only one. They are unique as they can freely choose their discipline instead of having one naturally assigned at birth but once chosen, they are stuck with it permanently. 
Espers cannot use any form of secondary Arcana – using Arcana through the use of Crysta or through the usage of empowered equipment. The exception to this rule is that they are able learn to use Runescript.

Known Esper-Class Arcana;


Spellbreaker - Espers who have chosen the ability to weaken or nullify the Arcana of other beings, Law Enforcement usually keep one of these with them at all times. The effectiveness of this ability varies depending on the user and their target.


Mimic - Espers who have chosen the discipline of Arcane Replication. They can copy various kinds of magic thrown at them, and use it themselves to a lesser degree.
