Yra
- Information:
A race of spiritual beings created from the Aether by when Erika Mu'Rah first became the Avatar of Heridas. Their natural form is that of a humanoid seemingly coated in jet-black flames while also covered in glowing arcane patterns which vary between in design them. As they age, Yra begin to develop wings which serve little purpose other than to represent which stage of their life they are at.
Once an Yra dies through natural means or is killed, they revert back to the form of their SoulCryst. Given enough time, the SoulCryst will reform into a new body while retaining a portion of their former strength which they are able to call upon should they wish. This regeneration cycle is limited to a maximum of 8* reincarnations. If the SoulCryst is destroyed or consumed by another being, the Yra dies permanently and will not be reincarnated – if in the event of the latter option, all of their known Arcana will be granted to the one who absorbed them, similar to consuming a standard Arcana Cryst.
When outside of their own realm, they are able to take on the physical form of another race to blend in – however once chosen it cannot be altered, this also changes the appearance of their natural forms which are usually featureless. This “cloak” also suppresses their Arcana, preventing their essence from distorting the world outside of Yternis. They retain full access to their spells, just at a reduced potency.
Due to being created from Aether, an Yra must also consume the very same force to stay alive. They can also consume anything containing their arcane affinity except with less potent of an effect. For example if an Yra was a fire elemental, they could consume fire as an alternative to Aether.
The Yra are led by The Ascended Lord and the Council of Seven, a group comprised of the original seven Yra's reincarnations.

The Eon
A sub-species of Yra created when they become corrupted in some way. They can be easily distinguished from Yra and Exo by their appearance and behaviour.
While Yra require Aether or their arcane attribute to sustain themselves, Eons are fuelled purely by the dark forces of the Abyss.

Racial Features (Yra and Eon): Aether Surge - Any Aether-Attribute spells roll one die higher than normal, mana cost of all spells is deducted from Vitality instead of Mana Reserve. For example, a spell using 1d6 for damage would roll 1d8 instead. This cannot increase to a dice value higher than a d12 roll.
Table of increased dice value:
